Posture & Mobility Virtual Mentorship 2024

With Sharon Sutherland

This 5-week 24-Hour Postural Care Virtual Mentorship Programme with Sharon Sutherland is ideal for those clinicians and teams working with service users/clients in the specialty area of 24 hour postural care (sitting lying and standing), pressure care and related function/mobility and who are looking to deepen their knowledge and build on their current skills.

As this programme is highly individualised and draws from Sharon’s 30+ years of experience as a postural care, seating and mobility expert, clinicians and related team members will benefit from the resources and discussions shared regardless of what point they are at in their career.

Both clinicians who are new to the area of seating and postural care and those with years of experience in specialised areas will undoubtedly develop a new skill, framework for clinical thinking, and/or appreciation for the importance of the work we have the opportunity to do with these individuals.

We have successfully graduated eight cohorts of clinicians/teams from this programme. Participating clinicians either self funded or received sponsorship from varying sources. For example sponsorship was secured from HC21, Brothers of Charity and the HSE in Ireland, the NHS in the UK and several international participants received government grants. We are very excited to continue offering registration to our global community of postural care colleagues for 2024!

What Clinicians are Saying About This Programme:

Sharon was so kind with her time and sharing her extensive knowledge. Sharon pushed my thinking and clinical reasoning to encourage me to look beyond “band aid” solutions in seating and really look at the persons body structures...it was challenging but has further ignited my passion for Seating.

The virtual assessments I completed with Sharon hugely benefitted me. I was completing the assessment with Sharon guiding me to complete a very thorough assessment. Case study presentation was also very beneficial when we could not see clients together. I have learned a huge deal in the past 10 weeks which I hope to continue to expand.

Sharon’s patience and “no question is too simple” attitude was also very conducive to high level learning.

Sharon and Jenn are amazing practical teachers. They helped me invaluable amounts when starting a new role and often still check in to see how I’m getting on. I had a 1-1 session and they broke everything down to suit my level of knowledge and understanding which was extremely helpful. The training was very practical and hands on which I really liked. I can not recommend them enough!
